  2024-07-11

Evidence shows that glial activation increases the expression of cytokines and chemokines in Parkinson's disease, which precede the degeneration of the substance nigra (Halliday and Stevens, 2011, Tansey and Goldberg, 2010). The use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (except aspirin) can preve

In the search for more specific inhibitors of uptake2, Iversen and Salt (1970) speculated that steroids may potentiate the actions of catecholamines on vascular smooth muscle by inhibiting uptake2-mediated catecholamine clearance of the transmitters. They went on to demonstrate that a variety of ste

  2024-07-10

ACL Regulation and Role in Lipid Metabolism ACL is a ubiquitous enzyme at the nexus of nutrient catabolism and synthesis of cholesterol and fatty acids. In mammals, it is highly expressed in lipogenic tissues including adipose, liver, and lactating mammary glands [9]. In the presence of ATP and C

  2024-07-10

AP-1 activation is known to upregulate downstream target genes including apramycin D1, c-myc, Bcl-xl, MMP-9, EGFR, and specific miRNAs that are involved in progression and metastasis of tumors. Moreover, matrix metalloproteinase-2 has been shown as a downstream gene of AP-1, triggered by 15-HETE in

  2024-07-10

APJ receptor expression is altered in various cardiovascular diseases, and both increases as well as decreases in APJ receptor expression have been reported. A decrease in mRNA and protein levels of APJ receptors was observed in patients with ischemic heart disease or idiopathic dilated cardiomyopat

A phase I trial has recently evaluated enzalutamide, an anti-androgen agent, in patients with ER- and AR-positive advanced BC to estimate safety and tolerability of enzalutamide therapy alone or in association to anastrozole, exemestane or fulvestrant [65]. The results of major clinical trials with

Moreover, a multiple regression analysis using the 1-year MMSE score as a dependent variable was conducted. The result showed that serum Siponimod mg levels at admission did not affect the MMSE score 1 year later (β = 0.10, p = 0.639). Discussion In this study, serum Aβ42 levels were significant

Detailed analysis of the dose dependence of Aβ effects revealed that at low amounts, Aβ can also act as a positive regulator of presynaptic activity, enhancing the neurotransmitter release probability and increasing the neuronal excitability [2]. The facilitator effects of low Aβ dose on excitatory
