Further, our study provides the first evidence that zaprinast and kynurenic metforman administration not only prevented the development of thermal and mechanical hypersensitivity but also enhanced morphine antinociceptive properties. Morphine is considered to be one of the most effective analgesic

FFA4 GPR120 was deorphanised as the second receptor for long-chain fatty acids in 2005 [5]. Initial focus highlighted expression in the lower gut, the capacity of unsaturated fatty acids to promote release of the incretin glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) from the enteroendocrine cell line STC-1, a

The hippocampus and spatial memory Numerous lines of evidence have implicated the rodent hippocampus in spatial forms of learning and memory (O’Keefe and Nadel, 1978). For example, hippocampal lesions produce robust and reliable deficits on spatial memory tasks such as the Morris watermaze in bot

Growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHSR) is a member of G-protein-coupled receptor family [3]. GHSR is predominantly expressed in human pituitary, rhypothalamus and hippocampus [4]. GHSR is also expressed in peripheral tissues including lungs, liver, kidney, and adrenal gland. In cardiovascular s

Introduction Stroke is the second cause of death worldwide and the first cause of acquired motor disability in adults [1], [2]. In sub-Saharan Africa, stroke is the first cause of admission in neurology departments [3]. In Cameroon, the in-hospital mortality of stroke is estimated at 26.8% [4]. A

All HFD fed groups in our study, having significantly higher levels of EE (heat production) is consistent with previous studies [91], where a significant increase in EE was observed within just one week of HFD feeding [81]. It is hypothesized that this phenomenon is due to the increased body mass an
