We were able to obtain several crystalline forms of CHAV Gth. The first one corresponded to the post-fusion conformation [14]. The comparison of this structure with that of VSV-Gth post-fusion conformation revealed that the PHD is the most divergent domain, with the largest differences confined to t
Ubiquitination of GlyRs subunit on plasma membrane
2022-03-03
Ubiquitination of GlyRs-α1 subunit on plasma membrane has been shown to initiate the receptor S/GSK1349572 and subsequent degradation in lysosomes (Buttner et al., 2001). However, the specific E3 ligase responsible for GlyRs-α1 ubiquitination is largely unknown as yet. Also, the functional consequen

The concept of the axo-myelin ‘synapse’ Axons can release glutamate in a Ca+-dependent and independent manner (reviewed in [13,69]). Glutamate released from axons activates GluRs located in myelin, a feature that gave rise to the idea of the axo-myelin ‘synapse’ by analogy with classical synaptic
The effect of GCK NES
2022-03-03
The effect of GCK-NES mutations on enzyme kinetics and protein stability might account for the hyperglycaemia that characterizes MODY2 patients, since reduced GCK activity would increase the threshold for glucose stimulated insulin release in beta-cells [31,37,49]. However, a more in depth functiona

The glucocorticoid-GR complex exerts wide-spread cellular effects through two distinct mechanisms categorized as genomic and non-genomic pathways [3,39]. Most non-genomic pathways originate from activation of mGR [40]. These actions of the GR appear to all play an important role in the regulation of

Introduction Ghrelin is a 28-amino Refusal Rates peptide mainly produced in the stomach and small intestines with the kidneys, placenta, and pancreas contributing to miniscule amounts of circuiting ghrelin [1]. Ghrelin exists in circulation in two major forms: acyl ghrelin (AG) and desacyl ghreli

In case where an extreme loop (of up to 45 nt) is allowed, as in G3 + E3 + XX, however, a G3+GQ loop maximum of 3 was adequate to reach high J-statistic. It continued to increase only up to 6 as the loop maximum. (Fig. 1A) Hence we suggest using a G3+GQ loop maximum between 3 and 6 where an extreme

FBP2-ALDOA complex is located on both sides of Z-line in striated muscles (Rakus et al., 2003a; Gizak et al., 2003) and its stability is regulated by calcium ions (Mamczur et al., 2005; Rakus et al., 2013) (Fig. 3). An increasing titre of [Ca2+] which occurs during muscle contraction stimulates diss

There has been conflicting evidence on the possible receptor mechanisms that mediate the neuro-immuno-modulatory effects of FAAH substrates. Evidence from in vitro studies indicates that AEA-mediated modulation of TLR4-induced neuroinflammation may be mediated by CB1/CB2 receptor dependent (Correa e

2022-03-02
SETDB1 is ubiquitously expressed in mouse tissues, and more than 900,000 ERVs are dispersed through the mouse genome. Nevertheless, the repertoire of ERVs under the control of SETDB1 was limited and highly cell-type specific. Only 17,349 ERVs were associated with H3K9me3 domains in Th2 cells. The va

All these recent results show the interconnection between the Hippo pathway as a tumor-suppressor on the one hand and its function as regulator of metabolic homeostasis on the other. Disruption of the Hippo pathway leads to cancer growth, which is often associated with pathological disturbances in t

2022-03-02
In conclusion, studies of the regulation of the HO-1/BVR/CO pathway by selective pharmacological approaches may lead to the discovery of novel compounds for the treatment of diverse diseases. Recent results validate the use of advances in targeting HO-1 in various vascular diseases. However, there a
